Astral Candles 

Astral Candles are associated with your Astrological sign. You should have your Astral candle burning each ritual you do. Different people have different color associations for the various Astral candles. You may even want to create your own astral candle colors. Whichever you do, remain consistent.

Astral Doorway Spell

Before you go to sleep tonight, you can carve a doorway in the ether with your mind. 
Be sure to visualize the approximate scenario you wish to encounter on the other side. 
Astrological imagery is handy; for example, if you wish to visit a sphere of nature and love. 
Visualize the sign of Venus behind the door. 
If you want to go somewhere comforting and paternal, visualize the sign of Jupiter. 
For astral adventures of a fantastical nature, think of the Moon. 
Ask for a blessing from a deity or angel of your choice, and then enter. 

Astral Mirror Exercise

The mirror exercise is one of many methods that can get you started on the path to astral projection.

First, sit or stand in front of a mirror. Be comfortable.
Stare at your reflection for about five to fifteen minutes. 
Stare into your eyes.
Now, while continuing to stare into your eyes, shift your consciousness into the 'you' in the mirror. 
To do this, imagine that you are staring out at yourself from inside the mirror.
Hold this shifted consciousness for five to fifteen minutes and then bring your consciousness back into your real body.
This exercise teaches the practioner how to shift consciousness which is needed when the practitioner shifts her/his consciousness into the astral body. 

Astral Travel
Astral Projection, out of body experience, lucid dreaming don't you want to know what the other side will be like? 
We all leave our physical bodies when we go to sleep at night. 
You may have thought you were dreaming when actually you out of body traveling around the astral planes. 
For instance if you were dreaming in full blown color and maybe flying or falling. 
In these scenarios you would be actually be astral projecting. 
You can learn to consciously leave the body by using my porthole device or 
you can use my dream control method, or maybe this method here. 
Just so you know... there are many different methods to induce an out of body experience. 
There is no best method. The best method is whatever works best for you. 

Here is one simple method that is easy to learn. 
Simply lay down with the lights off. Make sure you are completely relaxed. 
Lie there and be quite and still, calm and clear your mind. 
Imagine your astral body which may look like gray matter shaped in the form of your body. 
Imagine it lifting and floating out of your body, floating up to the ceiling in your room. 
Turn and look down and try to see you body lying there. 
If you are successful you may want to stay in the room and float around a bit, 
staying close to the body or you can choose to walk through walls and travel to 
where ever you wish to go. 
You can fly there or you can will yourself there instantly. 

Here are some pointers: 
Watch what you think. Everything you think can manifest on the astral planes. 
So you don't want to be thinking about anything evil or you will attract it! 
Anytime you think you are scared and or lost, just think of your body and you will be back in it in a flash. 
Ever notice that when you are falling in a dream and you hit the bottom you always wake up quickly! 
That is your astral body snapping back into place. 
The use of drugs can lower your vibrations meaning you will not be able to travel to higher astral planes where the vibrations are higher. 
The reason you will want to travel higher on the astral planes is because you may have to escape an attack by a lower vibrating entity. 
They can not travel to the higher planes. 

Primary Factors in Astral Projection

Many people believe that outside weather affects the astral realm and therefore recommend not going astral when the weather is extremely windy or stormy. The best times are when the skies are clear.

Moon phases are said to affect us each differently in relation to how well we are able to astral project. This is why it is best to keep a log of the moon phase when practicing astral projection. Over time, you will be able to see a pattern as to when you were able to project successfully and what phase the moon was in.

Planetary alignments also factor in as to how well we are able to astral project. Again, the alignments affect us all individually.

Time is another important issue as some people astral project more easily in the daytime hours than they do at night and vice versa.

It's important to keep notes of all these things in your astral journal. It is equally important to make notes of failed attempts.

Some people find that they are more apt to project when they are in a reclining position and some people find that they have a greater tendency to fall asleep in the lying down position. The practitioner, in the beginning, should test out a number of positions and keep notes on these positions.
